Keep the World Cup party going with New Star Soccer Manager this summer

The team behind the award-winning and ridiculously addictive New Star Soccer has announced a new game in the popular soccer (European football) series called New Star Soccer Manager.

The management sim, revealed in the first-look gameplay trailer above, is set to launch on Android (and iOS) devices later this summer.

Editor’s Pick

Unlike many of the soccer management sims on mobile, New Star Soccer Manager is being pitched as a cross between a simulation and an arcade title, with gameplay features both on and off the field.

As well as devising tactics, buying and selling players, holding team talks, meeting with the board, and even dealing with social media and overall squad chemistry, you’ll also be shooting, passing, and making runs during matches with familiar New Star Soccer arcade controls.

With modern soccer management games so often devolving into a menu-fest with endless amounts of micromanagement, here’s hoping that New Star Soccer Manager’s mix of gameplay styles has enough variety and flair to satisfy footie fans once the current 2018 World Cup fever dies down.

There’s no word on pricing just yet, but there’s a good chance it’ll follow New Star Soccer’s free-to-play model with in-app purchases. The folks over at Pocket Gamer previewed the game earlier this year and seem to think the final release will include collectible card elements, so we could be seeing a FIFA Ultimate Team-like system to support the game long term.

What do you make of the trailer? Will you be losing more of your life to New Star Soccer Manager when it launches later this summer? Let us know in the comments.

Deal: Google Pixel for $329.99 (32GB) or $379.99 (128GB) at B&H (~50% off)

B&H store page for the Google Pixel. B&H

B&H has reduced the price on the original Google Pixel at its online store (via PocketNow). Both 32GB and 128GB models of the handset are available at significantly reduced prices ahead of the launch of the Google Pixel 3 series in the fall.

The 32GB Pixel is available in Quite Black for $329.99 while the 128GB model is $50 more expensive at $379.99 and comes in Very Silver. Google removed the first generation Pixel and Pixel Xl from its online store earlier this year, so this may be one of your last chances to get hold of a new unit.

Editor’s Pick

The Google Pixel features a 5-inch, 1080p display, Snapdragon 821 chip, 4GB of RAM, and a 12.3MP main camera. The regular price for the handset in these two storage versions was $649.99 and $749.99 (for the 32GB and 128GB models respectively), and you’d probably struggle to find them at this price non-refurbished (and from a trustworthy seller) now, so it could be a good deal for you.

The Pixel is approaching its second anniversary (it was released in October 2016), but don’t forget that you get longer support with the Pixels than almost all other Android phones. The Pixel launched with Android Nougat and is expected to see the final version of Android P when it arrives and security updates until October 2019.

Don’t miss our deep dive Pixel review if you’re interested in learning more about the hardware, and let us know in the comments if you think this is still a worthwhile offer.

How to Redirect Users to a Random Post in WordPress

Do you want to redirect users to a random post? A random post allows users to explore older articles and read posts that are hidden in your blog archives. In this article, we will show you how to easily redirect users to a random post in WordPress.

How to redirect users to a random post in WordPress

Why You Should Redirect Users to a Random Post?

By default, WordPress posts appear in reverse chronological order (from newest to oldest), so your users will read the latest post first. If you write regularly on your blog, then your users may not be able to discover your older articles.

One way to overcome this issue is to display random posts in the sidebar of your blog. It will allow your users to discover new content while increasing your page views.

You can also redirect users to a random post from 404 error pages or add a ‘Surprise Me’ button in your blogs custom archive page which takes users to a random post.

That being said, let’s take a look on how to redirect users to a random post in WordPress.

Redirecting Users to a Random Post in WordPress

First thing you need to do is to install and activate the Redirect URL to Post plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Upon activation, you’ll see the URL query parameters for redirection on the WordPress plugins page. This plugin has no other settings page.

You can use any of these query parameters in your posts and pages to redirect users to random posts, latest posts, and other older articles.

Redirect URL parameters

To redirect users to a random post, you need to copy the random post query parameter from here and add it in your error pages and other pages as a link.

Clicking on the link will redirect users to a different random post.

You can also add a button for redirection on your blog. Simply add this shortcode in your WordPress posts and pages to display the random post button.
