Moto Z2 Force update tracker (Update: AT&T rolling out Android Oreo OTA)

Update 02/23: AT&T has finally started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to Moto Z2 Force users via an OTA update.

Users on the XDA Developers forums began reporting signs of the update a few days ago and AT&T has now confirmed the rollout on its official support page. Build OCX27.109-47 includes all of the base Oreo features and also the January Android security patches.

With T-Mobile, Verizon, and now AT&T sorted, all that’s left is the Sprint model.

Welcome to the Moto Z2 Force Android update tracker page. This page contains information for all carriers and unlocked versions of the device, with a quick reference table for each and a log with links to further details. It will be regularly updated with the latest Moto Z2 Force update information but we won’t be covering general security patches in this list.

We recommend you bookmark this page so you can stay up to date with the very latest updates.

Moto Z2 Force Android Oreo update

The Moto Z2 Force was released in July 2017 with Android Nougat. It’s one of the most recent Moto flagships to arrive, is among the first to be updated to Android Oreo. Lenovo/Motorola has already confirmed that it will receive Android 8.0 across all carriers, along with a bunch of other Moto devices.

Motorola was the first non-Google OEM to deploy the Nougat update in the US last year, delivering it to both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force within 88 days of the new software being released, and the international unlocked update rolled out a couple of days later.

Google launches Pixel Buds in the UK, Australia and Germany

Google has launched its wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds, in the UK, Australia and Germany. Released last November, these represent Google’s first foray into the headphone market, and they arrive with Google Assistant integration.

The headphones were previously exclusive to the US and Canada, but they’re now available at Google’s online store in the aforementioned regions, coming in at £159, €179 and $249 AUD. This makes them more expensive than the $159 they cost in the US, with the UK being hit hardest—they come in at the equivalent of around $220 there.

Editor’s Pick

When we reviewed the headphones last year, we said that those who regularly use Google Assistant would enjoy them most, but conceded that they aren’t the best sounding, best designed, or the best-priced headphones. With them priced comparatively more in these other territories, they’re even worse value than they were previously.

See them at the Google Store here, or check out some alternatives in our sister site’s guide to the best headphones of 2018 at the link.
